The demand for different types of shieldings is increasing
due to the CE testing standards that present new challenges to the manufacturers
of electrical and electronic appliances.
The Federal Office for Post and Telecommunications is the German regulatory
agency for EMC (electromagnetic compatibility), for example in devices of
transmission and communication technology. The EMC is resulting from the
radiating characteristics and irradiation resistance of the devices.
Furthermore, the disturbing effect of high-frequency has to be suppressed.
The company GERMANIA-WERK is facing this new challenge. Our complex
punch-bending parts are used as shieldings in variable designs. We manufacture
them according to the customer's specification.
Application examples:
|
Contact springs: |
Shieldings of V2A (1.4310) and beryllium copper, that can be
mounted, soldered, bolted or riveted depending on the intended use and
connection method.
|
|
Application: |
Shielding of doors and casings of communication and transmission
equipment against high-frequency radiation.
|
|
Shielding walls: |
Contact springs of nickel silver or copper alloys that are
mounted onto circuit boards and connected using SMD technology.
|
|
Application: |
Shielding of electronic components or modules on circuit boards
and other cases of application.
|
|
Shielding caps: |
Mainly of nickel silver or V2A, they can both be mounted onto
circuit boards or connected using wave soldering and/or can be fitted to the
shielding frame.
The shielding caps are manufactured in different formats (with or without
printing), some with interior insulation.
Upon request they are also equipped with a circumferential marking for ripping
an opening in the cap to allow access to the circuit board if necessary (for
repair purposes).
Filter caps of soft materials, such as pure nickel, nickel silver or kovar are
used as shielding for quartz crystals in microelectronics. Depending on the
product, an evenness of up to 0.03 mm can be guaranteed. The filter caps have a
circumferential closed V-ring serving as welding seam.

|
Shielding frame: |
of steel RRSt4 (1.0338) K32 with electroplated surface or nickel
silver (solderable), can be mounted directly onto the circuit boards or
connected using SMD technology or reflow soldering.
|
|
Application: |
Frame and cap are used for shielding electronic components or
modules in cell phones, notebook computers, radio equipment, data transmission
units, navigation systems, airbags etc.
